Starting Pay Rate Range
$21.24 - $26.55
(Determined by the knowledge, skills, and experience of the applicant.)
Job Summary
Provides direct patient care to individuals of all ages, from birth through geriatric, and documents this care according to policy and procedure guidelines. Performs additional patient care and operational tasks for the Physical Therapy Department as needed, always maintaining a positive attitude. Delivers physical therapy services to outreach sites as required.

Job Description
Essential Functions:
Shows excellent critical thinking and effective decision-making skills when providing care. Makes sure that all therapy interventions comply with nationally recognized and evidence-based guidelines. Provides treatment that achieves or supersedes the department's performance measures.
Creating documentation in a prompt and precise manner that adheres to departmental standards for verifying medical necessity.
Delivers necessary documentation for billing purposes, ensuring correct billing charges and authorizations. Demonstrates effective time management by meeting or exceeding departmental productivity benchmarks.
Fulfills all necessary educational requirements with a strong sense of responsibility, recognizing the importance of staying up-to-date with current nursing practices.
Complies with guidelines from state, federal, and professional associations regarding supervision.
Incorporates family and caregiver education in discharge planning, enhancing their ability to support the patient throughout the treatment and recovery process.
Uphold all regulatory demands relating to insurance, accrediting groups, and state and national regulatory bodies.
Obligations that may arise unexpectedly.

Certification - Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - South Dakota Board of Physical Therapy
Physical Requirements:
Very Heavy work - exerting over 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or more than 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force occasionally (up to 33% of the time), and/or more than 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or tissues. Requires the ability to work designated shift lengths (including 8 and 12 hours), which may include night shifts or occasional irregular hours.
