Pharmacist - Pediatric Specialist

Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Pharmacist to join our Pediatric Department at the University of North Carolina Hospitals. As a Pediatric Pharmacist, you will work in a multidisciplinary environment to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to pediatric patients with complex conditions. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and critical part of patient care, collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide quality, patient-centered care. Responsibilities: • Ensure timely medication access for pediatric patients, including order review and verification • Utilize and analyze patient data to provide optimal drug therapy recommendations • Perform protocol-driven clinical services such as therapeutic dose monitoring and antimicrobial stewardship activities • Compound and oversee the preparation and dispensing of medications, including sterile products • Maintain patient profiles within electronic medical record to facilitate communication • Comply with the medication formulary and therapeutic substitution programs • Facilitate discharge and transfer of patients, including medication reconciliation and discharge counseling • Practice medication safety, including adverse drug event and medication error reporting • Participate in Code Blue situations for pediatric patients • Precept students, residents, and participate in training new pharmacy staff as required • * Qualifications: • Earned a BS in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an ACPE-accredited school/college of pharmacy • Must be licensed or eligible for licensure to practice pharmacy in the State of North Carolina • Completion of a PGY1 or PGY2 residency in pediatrics or an equivalent level of pharmacy experience is preferred • Possess and demonstrate excellent initiative, communication, analytical skills, organization, and collaboration • * Benefits: • Competitive salary range: $50.99 - $73.28 per hour • Hybrid work schedule with a mix of on-site and remote work • Opportunities for professional growth and development • Collaborative and dynamic work environment • Comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance • Retirement plan options, including TSERS and ORP • Reasonable accommodations for religious practices and disabilities Apply tot his job
