OB SUMMARY
The role of PetSmarts Professional Bather (dog bather) involves interacting with pet owners and their pets, providing them with positive experiences and salon-specific services while aligning with the companys mission, vision, values, and strategy. Responsibilities also include maintaining a clean store, recommending solutions to pet parents, and adhering to pet safety guidelines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following and may vary based on store needs:
Completing PetSmarts Splash training and safety certification program.
Managing the in-person, phone, and sales register experience for pet owners.
Welcoming pet parents, answering queries, and assisting in salon bookings.
Managing the in and out procedures for pets.
Performing various bath and brush services, including standalone services like nail trims and teeth brushing as per the bathing standards of PetSmart.
Offering additional health and wellness options to pet owners based on pet requirements.
Ensuring a safe atmosphere for coworkers, pets, and pet parents.
Acting promptly when a sick/injured pet is identified; transporting to the vet as necessary.
Recommending and selling merchandise and services.
Keeping the store clean.
Supporting other departments when needed. Additional tasks might be allocated.
Participating in our culture of Belonging and Recognition.
Adhering to all Company Policies and Procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
Skill in using computer programs.
Ability to stay calm under pressure.
Flexibility regarding shifts, ready to work nights, weekends, and holidays when required.
Strong organizational capabilities and attention to detail and safety.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK SETTIN
The job requires standing, walking, climbing ladders, and using hands for various tasks. Frequently involves reaching, stooping, kneeling, and hearing. Specific vision skills needed include depth perception.
Must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and work with others to lift heavier items.
May involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, a wet environment with a lot of pet hair, moderate noise, and live animals and their handling.
