This role is ideal for a hands-on HR generalist with strong knowledge of U.S. labor laws, payroll, benefits, tax, and compliance, and a basic understanding of Canadian employment regulations. The People Lead will oversee the full employee lifecycle (excluding recruitment), ensure regulatory compliance, including mandatory training, health and safety requirements, and serve as a business partner to leaders across North America, including the C-suite.This role is fully remote, with occasional travel as needed.What You’ll Do HereRegional HR Leadership & People ManagementLead and manage a distributed HR team across the U.S. and Canada, ensuring consistent delivery of HR services and guidanceServe as the primary HR contact for North America, providing day-to-day support to employees and managersProvide coaching and strategic input to business leaders, including C-suite stakeholdersEmployee Lifecycle ManagementOversee main aspects of the employee lifecycle: onboarding, performance management, engagement, payroll, compensation and benefits and offboardingChampion best practices and ensure HR systems and processes are streamlined and effectiveParticipate and lead company-wide global people projects and initiativesCompliance & Employment LawEnsure compliance with U.S. federal and state employment laws and Canadian provincial labor regulationsOwn and maintain employee handbooks, HR policies, and employment documentationOversee mandatory employee trainings, including harassment prevention, ethics, and other regulatory topicsLead and support health and safety compliance efforts across jurisdictionsPayroll, Benefits & TaxPartner with Finance and external providers to manage payroll and benefits administration for U.S. and Canadian employeesEnsure accurate tax filings, benefits enrollments, and leave trackingSupport year-end processes such as W-2s (U.S.) and T4s (Canada)HR Operations & SystemsMaintain accurate employee records in the HRISTrack and analyze HR metrics to inform strategy and ensure operational excellenceManage vendor relationships related to benefits, payroll, compliance, and employee programsOversee HR metrics, dashboards, and regular reporting of key workforce dataInternal Business PartneringAct as a strategic HR advisor to senior leadership, supporting business decisions with relevant people insightsDrive organizational health and culture initiatives across North AmericaCollaborate with global HR peers to align practices and ensure consistency across regionsWhat You’ll Bring to UsRequired Qualifications6+ years of progressive HR experience, with management responsibilitiesDeep expertise in U.S. employment law, compliance, benefits, and payrollBasic knowledge of Canadian labor practices and legislation and willingness to develop in that areaExperience with mandatory training programs and health & safety complianceDemonstrated ability to build strong relationships with business leaders, executive leadershipPeople centric approach focused on employee experienceExcellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skillsProficiency in HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office/Google WorkspaceProficiency in using payroll systems (e.g., ADP or equivalent platforms)Preferred QualificationsHR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP/SCP, PHR/SPHR)What We OfferInternational, fast paced and growing environmentChance to work with the world’s biggest brands at the CX tech leaderAgile and open-minded culture, with high levels of trust and flexibility Opportunity for professional growth and development Possibility to learn new and cutting-edge technologies, in an environment that encourages new ideasBenefits package including Medical, Dental, Vision & Life Coverage OptionsFlexible Working HoursUnlimited PTO8 weeks paid maternity leave or 4 weeks paid paternity leave; adoption and foster care leave available as well12 paid Holidays 2 Paid Community Service DaysCompany paid STD and LTD401KEducational Reimbursement OpportunitiesReferral Bonus ProgramAccess to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Scheduled Company Learning Days and access to additional courses via our online Emplifi AcademyThere’s more as well!
