The People Adviser role is responsible for providing business-focussed generalist HR/People advice, guidance and interventions across a geographical area or collection of operational programmes / departments under the support and guidance of the People Business Partner. Duties will primarily focus on the professional areas of Recruitment, Performance & Reward, Employee Relations, Resource and Talent Planning and Organisational Design. Although this role is remote, there will be an expectation to travel to Reed in Partnership sites as and when required. Just some of your day-to-day responsibilities will include: Performance and Reward Provide coaching and training to line management for effective performance management. Assist in proactively managing underperforming Co-Members, utilizing capability procedures. Monitor and support probationary Co-Members to meet productivity expectations. Advise on evidence-based procedures, including potential termination within probation. Review investigation reports to assess disciplinary action proposals. Offer guidance on pay and benefit discrepancies. Employee Relations Build positive relationships with Co-Members and management for early issue escalation and resolution. Monitor attendance and support proactive sickness and absence management. Present satisfaction and engagement survey data to line managers, addressing emerging employee relations issues. Aid in resolving informal complaints impartially and facilitating discussions. Assist in producing company responses to formal grievances in line with policies and regulations. Conduct investigations into grievances and allegations, offering HR advisory support in hearings when needed. Resource and Talent Planning Work with Reed Direct Sourcing Team and management teams to ensure that recruitment and selection processes are delivered to company standards in an efficient and effective manner. Advise management on best practices for resourcing needs and internal recruitment policy compliance. Ensure up-to-date and relevant job descriptions and specifications for all roles. Participate in the selection and assessment of operational roles, with a focus on specific positions Organisational Design Assist the People Business Partner/Head of People in facilitating organizational changes with minimal disruption and maximizing talent redeployment. Collaborate on restructuring proposal documents and communication guides for management during the consultation process. Provide support and guidance to management during consultation activities. Advise on selection criteria and materials for redeployment opportunities to retain top talent. Contribute to TUPE processes, including communication, consultation, and post-transfer support on terms and conditions Miscellaneous Produce the People data for the board report every period as well as adhoc reporting requests. Ensuring adherence to Health & Safety and Safeguarding guidelines working with management to ensure we fulfil our responsibilities as an employer outlined in the relevant Company policies and procedures and statutory legislation. Liaise with People Services team to ensure any agreed contractual changes within their area of responsibility have been authorisation and documented. What’s in it for you? To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with: Essential Attainments: Background of working in a generalist HR/People environment with some experience of supporting and advising line managers on a range of HR/People issues such as employee consultations, reorganisations, disciplinaries, grievance and sickness absence proceedings. Experience of creating/updating Company policies and procedures, supporting employees in all areas of Company compensation and benefits. Experience of supported internal and external recruitment & selection processes (attraction, assessment centres, interviews, testing etc.). Desirable Attainments: Experience of leading and or supporting investigations into allegations of misconduct e.g. Bullying and Harassment. Experience of supporting HR/People projects involving consultative activity with internal/external stakeholders. Delivering of HR/People advice & guidance, face-to-face, over the telephone and by email to operational teams Graduate level (minimum 2.1) Working towards CIPD qualified status. Essential Criteria: A practical and up to date understanding of employment law. Experience of working in a fast paced commercial environment that is subject to regular change. Providing people focussed interventions that support the delivery of business objectives Ability to analyse and understand issues/information to make decisions or put forward recommendations Confident in dealing with people at all levels within the organisation providing accurate HR/People advice Strong attention to detail Well organised and methodical with strong verbal and written communication skills. Tactful and discreet in handling sensitive personal information. Desirable Criteria: Willingness to travel across the UK for the proper performance of the duties of the role.
