Role:

The Payroll/Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the timely and accurate processing of all company payroll, including employee salaries, taxes, and benefits. This role also encompasses managing all accounts payable functions and ensuring timely payment to vendors while maintaining accurate financial records. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Duties:

The Payroll/Accounts Payable Specialist will:
• Payroll Processing:
• Process semi-monthly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
• Calculate and process employee taxes, including federal, state, and local income taxes, Social Security, Medicare, and other applicable deductions.
• Process employee benefits, including health insurance, dental, vision, 401(k), and other voluntary deductions.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare and file all required payroll tax reports and remittances.
• Conduct regular audits of payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Accounts Payable:
• Process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper approvals.
• Maintain vendor files and records.
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies with vendors.
• Prepare and process vendor payments, including checks and electronic transfers.
• Reconcile vendor statements and maintain accurate vendor balances.
• Assist with the month-end close process by ensuring timely and accurate entries in the accounting system.
• Other Duties:
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
• Maintain confidentiality of all employee and company financial information.
• Stay current on all applicable payroll and tax laws and regulations.

Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.

Required Skills:
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in payroll processing and accounts payable.
• Experience with payroll software (e.g., UKG, Unanet) is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
