Payroll Summer Intern (Hybrid, Charlotte, NC)
About the position
The internship in the Payroll Services department at Compass Corporate offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in payroll operations. This 10-week hybrid program allows interns to work three days at the headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, and two days remotely, providing exposure to various aspects of payroll management, including compliance, data analytics, and project management.
Responsibilities
Ā Aid in the auditing of Payroll system outputs to ensure compliance with established standards
,
Ā Provide standard payroll reports and ad-hoc reports along with data analytics to support decision making
,
Ā Assist with timely and accurately processing payroll master data and payroll processing
,
Ā Run reports and prepare data for audits and legal requests
,
Ā Validate tax reports for multiple filing frequencies
,
Ā Provide prompt customer service with payroll questions and payroll-related policy questions
,
Ā Support process improvements through projects and initiatives
,
Ā Review and update process documentation
,
Ā Assist with special projects
,
Ā Assist other teams within the department when requested
Requirements
Ā Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Data Science or similar program with a minimum GPA of 3.0
,
Ā Capability to take direction and communicate clearly and effectively
,
Ā Ability to work independently as well as in partnership with team members
,
Ā Self-driven, proactive problem solver with great attention to detail
,
Ā Proficiency regarding time and meeting deadlines
,
Ā Can do attitude
,
Ā Proficient in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
