Patient Account Specialist -Remote - Part Time (Days)

Job Summary The Patient Account Specialist plays a crucial role in managing and supporting the financial aspects of patient accounts within a health care setting. The Patient Account Specialist will ensure accurate billing, collections, and record-keeping while providing excellent customer service to patients and our clients. Duties • Utilizes the Epic Professional Billing System to review and monitor patient accounts through the Accounts work queues. • Reviews the entire account to ensure claims were billed properly, payments were applied correctly, and all necessary adjustments were made before approving balance for statements. • Posts patient payments into the Epic system. • Responds to patient inquiries, both via phone and email, regarding outstanding balances. • Conducts outgoing pre-collection calls to patients or guarantors regarding outstanding balances • Provides requested information for third party liability claims. • Reviews patient credit balances and process refunds when applicable Skills • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. • Professional telephone and e-mail etiquette • Clear oral and written communication • Ability to interact with patients and co-workers in a professional and helpful manner.
