ScionHealth is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Patient Account Representative to join our Revenue Cycle team in a remote capacity, supporting two of our facilities. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring accurate reimbursement, and maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Our Revenue Cycle team is responsible for managing the financial aspects of patient care, from registration to reimbursement. As a Patient Account Representative, you will be an integral part of this team, working closely with internal and external customers to resolve billing and insurance-related issues.

Key Responsibilities


Respond to inbound and outbound phone calls from hospital and physician group customers, providing timely and effective resolution to their queries.
Maintain required levels of productivity and quality while managing tasks to ensure timely resolution of analytic reports.
Utilize various resources, including payor websites, provider service lines, analytics, and correspondence, to accomplish analytic report follow-up.
Participate in A/R clean-up projects and other initiatives identified by leadership.
Take ownership of assignments and demonstrate a proactive approach to resolving issues and improving processes.
Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, listening attentively to their concerns and providing clear, concise responses.
Collaborate with supervisors, peers, and other departments to ensure seamless delivery of customer service.
Provide training to new or existing staff as directed by leadership, sharing knowledge and expertise to enhance team performance.
Identify opportunities to reduce call volumes and wait times, improving customer satisfaction and overall experience.
Demonstrate leadership qualities and initiative amongst peers and coworkers, contributing to a positive and productive team culture.


Essential and Preferred Qualifications

Education and Experience


High School Diploma or GED Equivalent (required)
1-2 years of previous customer service experience (preferred)
Familiarity with one or more of the following systems or applications: Epic, SSI, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word (preferred)


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
General accounting and bookkeeping skills
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of medical billing and medical terminology (preferred)
