Flexible hours, with seven days a week to choose from. All preparation and lesson planning is taken care of for you, so you can focus on teaching Tutor Requirements: For Math Tutors: College students or professionals with strong Math abilities. Education or Math degrees are not required. For TestPrep (ACT/SAT) Tutor: strong ACT/SAT score required (30 ACT/1400 SAT). Education or Math degrees are not required. 1 year tutoring experience preferred. Strong communication skills. Ability to multi-task. Working out of one of our locations in Schaumburg or Lake Zurich/Barrington. Tutor Skills and Qualifications: Teach using Sylvan based programs Curriculum, training and direction provided Direct and motivate students during instruction Reward students for successful work Evaluate and document student progress Communicate student needs to our Educational Team Develop rapport with students and establish a fun, engaging learning environment Maintain a positive attitude and demonstrate enthusiasm for teaching and Sylvan About Sylvan Learning Centers: We are the industry leaders in providing supplemental education to children in pre-K through 12th grade We provide individualized instruction in Comprehension, Reading, English, Writing, Math and Study Skills. We also offer ACT/SAT Test Prep and STEM Given the pandemic, we are seeing growing needs for tutoring We teach 7 days per week and require our teachers to work at least one of Saturday/Sunday, and at least one day during the week.
