Job Overview: Medical Transcriptionist Scribe
As a Medical Transcriptionist Scribe, you'll play a critical role in supporting our healthcare professionals by accurately documenting patient information in our electronic medical records system. This is a part-time, remote opportunity that offers a flexible schedule and the opportunity to work with a talented team of healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Document patient information in the electronic medical record at the direction of the physician or advanced practice clinician.
Accurately transcribe provider dictation and/or activities, ensuring high-quality documentation.
Maintain a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and healthcare procedures.
Utilize computer-based applications to record patient information and support healthcare operations.
Demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills, with a focus on tracking patient care and improving patient flow.
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
Participate in ongoing training and education to stay up-to-date on industry developments and best practices.
Essential Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required; 4-year Bachelor's degree preferred.
Working knowledge of medical terminology and technical spelling.
Computer aptitude and ability to quickly learn new applications.
Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a focus on tracking patient care and improving patient flow.
Ability to record information accurately and promptly.
Aptitude to learn or have knowledge of exam, diagnostic, and treatment procedures and protocols.
Professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families.
Preferred Qualifications:
Six months of customer service experience in a medical field.
Specific medical terminology training.
Knowledge of basic anatomy, coding, and HIPAA familiarity.
Medical, procedural, and diagnosis coding experience.
