Position Overview: Remote Part-Time Customer Service Representative

We are currently seeking a motivated and reliable Part-Time Remote Customer Service Representative to join our pharmacy support division. In this role, you will be responsible for processing patient information, handling prescription data entry, and providing excellent service to both patients and healthcare providers. This position offers a flexible 8-hour schedule, making it ideal for individuals seeking work-life balance or supplemental income.

Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you will have a diverse range of duties that contribute to our overall patient care mission. Here's what you can expect in this role:

Data Entry & Patient Enrollment


Utilize arenaflex prescription data entry methods and guidelines to process new patient enrollments accurately
Enter patient information into the appropriate system with precision and attention to detail
Handle patient medication requests within HIPAA guidelines and enter refill orders for processing
Investigate and obtain missing prescription information as needed
Interpret clinical abbreviations (SIG codes) to ensure accurate prescription data
Resolve all data entry-related exceptions efficiently and accurately


Patient Communication


Handle correspondence with patients through inbound calls, chat messages, and emails
Make outbound calls to prescribers and patients as needed to resolve issues or gather information
Provide compassionate and professional responses to patient inquiries
Ensure all patient interactions meet our high standards for customer satisfaction


Resolution of Third-Party Issues


Investigate and resolve third-party billing issues by researching and collecting relevant information
Make necessary amendments and resubmit claims for processing according to individual plan requirements
Make phone calls to insurance providers and other parties to obtain information, gain override approvals, or otherwise resolve third-party issues
Document all resolution steps thoroughly for quality assurance purposes


Pharmacy Support


Provide assistance to pharmacists, both those in your office and those at other locations
Identify and escalate issues to senior-level staff as appropriate
Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless pharmacy operations
Maintain open communication with colleagues across different departments


Compliance & Professional Development


Obtain an active pharmacy technician license or certification within the first 90 days of employment
Maintain an active pharmacy technician license or certification throughout employment
Observe regulatory working methods and perform duties according to arenaflex policies and procedures
Stay updated on company guidelines and industry regulations


Essential Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must possess the following skills and competencies:


Basic Computer Skills: Ability to start up and shut down computers, use a mouse to point and click, start and close programs, switch between programs, save documents, print documents, and access information online
Web Navigation Skills: Basic web browser skills including opening a browser, typing URLs in the correct location, using search engines, bookmarking websites, navigating using back/forward/stop buttons, and completing online forms
Keyboard Proficiency: Intermediate-level keyboarding skills (minimum 25 WPM) with the ability to type from memory and organize documents effectively
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication abilities to interact professionally with patients, healthcare providers, and team members
Attention to Detail: Strong ability to accurately process and verify data while maintaining confidentiality
Time Management: Capability to handle high-volume tasks efficiently while meeting deadlines
Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to investigate issues and implement effective solutions


Preferred Qualifications

While not required, the following qualifications will strengthen your application:


At least one year of pharmacy technician experience in a retail or call center environment
Experience providing customer service to internal and external clients, including meeting quality standards for services and assessing customer satisfaction
Intermediate to advanced keyboarding skills (minimum 35 WPM) with ability to type from memory and organize documents
Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English (verbal and written)
Knowledge of pharmacy billing systems and insurance processing
Familiarity with medical terminology and prescription abbreviations
