Part Time- Permits Engineer Specialist

- Review, inspect, and process new street additions and county bond projects
- Ensure compliance with permits and VDOT standards for private and commercial entrance permits
- Communicate with event coordinators regarding lane and road closures, providing technical guidance
- Serve as a technical resource for inspectors, contractors, and agency management
- Issue and process land use permit applications and inspect related work for compliance
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to obtain required certifications within specified timeframes
- Skill in using computers and software applications
- Knowledge of land use permitting processes and procedures
- Ability to read and interpret site plans, construction plans, and property plats
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Certifications in Soils and Aggregate, Asphalt Concrete, Hydraulic Cement Concrete, and Erosion and Sediment Control
- Experience in highway construction and roadway maintenance
- Familiarity with VDOT Road and Bridge Standards and Access Management Regulations
- Background in Civil Engineering or a related field
