Part-Time Instructor - Remote | WFH
Are you passionate about workplace safety and eager to make a real impact? We're seeking a dedicated Part-Time Work Zone Safety Instructor to join our team. In this role, you'll facilitate Work Zone Safety classes, helping individuals and organizations understand and implement best practices for a safer work environment.
Position Highlights...
As a Work Zone Safety Instructor, you will:
Deliver engaging and research-based training sessions using our established curriculum.
Cover essential topics such as Work Zone Flagger, Work Zone Technician, and Work Zone Supervisor.
Manage classes effectively, including organizing and evaluating activities to meet training goals.
Key Responsibilities
Instruction (80%):
Uphold confidentiality and handle privileged information responsibly.
Stay informed about state regulations and local laws to provide accurate guidance.
Serve as a knowledgeable resource for participants, answering questions and clarifying content.
Attend and participate in required training, updates, and development seminars.
Conduct classes in line with quality assurance standards, including managing classroom dynamics and adhering to program requirements.
Complete all necessary administrative tasks related to classroom training, including rostering, attendance tracking, and emergency procedures.
Be prepared to teach classes on short notice in case of unexpected absences.
Classroom & Materials Preparation (10%):
Regularly check A/V equipment to ensure functionality.
Perform safety and maintenance walk-throughs at classroom locations, reporting any issues promptly.
Manage classroom setup, including posting signage and arranging seating.
Represent our organization at leased sites and coordinate with vendors as needed.
Instructional Support (10%):
Monitor class quality and provide constructive feedback to enhance instruction.
Assist fellow instructors with technical and maintenance issues.
Handle other operational and administrative tasks as assigned, and submit expenses promptly.
We're Looking For Someone With
A Bachelor's degree in construction, engineering, or a related field.
Knowledge of construction, engineering, and work zones.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Proficiency in relevant technology to support instruction.
A Master's degree and experience in engineering, construction, or education are preferred.
Public speaking experience and the ability to work with diverse populations.
Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive environment.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Completion of Instructor Development Courses (IDC) prior to instruction.
A valid State Driver's License and successful completion of a Criminal Offender Record check.
Pay Rate: $40 per hour
