About the Position: Shaping the Future of Ethnic Studies Education We are looking for an exceptional individual to join our faculty pool as a Part-Time Ethnic Studies instructor. Service: Participate in department, division, and college committees, contributing to the shared governance of Long Beach City College. Qualifications: The Ideal Candidate To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the minimum qualifications and possess the skills and competencies outlined below. Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in Ethnic Studies or a related field such as American Studies/Ethnicity, Latino Studies, La Raza Studies, Central American Studies, Latin American Studies, Cross Cultural Studies, Race and Ethnic Relations, Asian-American Studies, or African-American Studies. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written forms. Desirable Qualifications: Two years of recent experience teaching Ethnic Studies-related courses at the community college level. Evidence of commitment to equitable teaching outcomes and sensitivity to diverse student backgrounds. Ability to use a variety of teaching strategies and technologies. Desire and demonstrated ability to participate in department and college committees and shared governance.
