Position Overview: Customer Service Gate Agent (Part-Time)

As a Customer Service Gate Agent at arenaflex, you'll be at the heart of our passenger operations. Your primary responsibility is assisting passengers with boarding and disembarking aircraft, ensuring a smooth and pleasant experience for every traveler. You'll work closely with our ground handling team to monitor computerized passenger boarding systems, assist customers with special needs, and handle flight itinerary changes as required.

Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Gate Agent, you will be responsible for:


Passenger Boarding and Disembarkation: Assist passengers in boarding and disembarking flights efficiently and safely, ensuring proper sequencing and adherence to weight and balance requirements
Computerized Boarding Operations: Monitor and manage computerized passenger boarding systems, including check-in, seat assignments, and boarding pass verification
Special Needs Assistance: Provide compassionate assistance to customers with special needs, including arranging wheelchair services, assisting unaccompanied minors, and accommodating passengers with mobility challenges
Flight Itinerary Management: Process customer flight itinerary changes and seat assignments as required, using our reservation systems to ensure accurate booking records
Jetway Operations: Operate the jetway safely and efficiently, coordinating with flight crews to ensure proper aircraft positioning and passenger flow
Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members to provide excellent customer service, meet corporate objectives, and maintain operational efficiency
Communication: Communicate clearly and professionally with passengers, airline staff, and team members regarding flight information, delays, and operational updates
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures, maintaining awareness of airport ramp conditions and potential hazards


Essential Qualifications and Competencies

To succeed in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:


Training Completion: Successful completion of the Gate Agent training course provided by arenaflex, which covers all aspects of ground handling operations, customer service, and safety procedures
Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to seventy (70) pounds repeatedly and perform physical tasks including frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, walking, standing, reaching, lifting, and climbing stairs
Shift Availability: Willingness and ability to work all shifts, including weekends, nights, holidays, and irregular schedules
Customer Service Orientation: Ability to meet company goals and customer expectations in a high-energy, fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and composure
Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact positively with passengers, colleagues, and airline partners
Organizational Abilities: Strong ability to organize, prioritize, and multitask in a dynamic operational environment
Problem-Solving: Capability to think quickly and resolve issues as they arise, ensuring smooth operations and satisfied customers
Age Requirement: Minimum 18 years of age
Documentation: High school diploma or GED completion required
Background Check: Must possess a valid driver's license with a clear driving record, and be able to pass a 10-year Criminal History Records Check and drug screen as required

Previous experience in the airline or aviation industry
Prior employment as a front-line customer service provider in any industry
Basic knowledge of computer applications and reservation systems
Familiarity with airport operations and ground handling procedures

Equipment Use: Regular use of telephones, computers, handheld boarding devices, jetway controls, and other office and operational equipment
Physical Activity: Continuous movement throughout shifts, including walking, standing, bending, and lifting
Shift Work: All shifts required, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, holidays, and irregular hours
Interaction: Direct, face-to-face interaction with thousands of passengers daily
