Part time Commerce Writer
A360 Media is looking for a Part-Time Commerce Writers to join a360’s growing commerce business.
Each part-time role will create affiliate shopping content, including deal articles, sales roundups and celebrity + shopping guides on Us Weekly primary, and other a360 Media publications (Life&Style, InTouchWeekly, Woman’s World) as assigned.
The ideal candidate will have prior professional writing experience, ideally at a publisher, and preferably in e-commerce or affiliate departments. This individual should be able to navigate retailer websites to find the best products for readers. Ideal candidates will have an eye for fashion, expertise in beauty or wellness, and a love for finding the perfect gift.
This individual will join a team of 6 total part-time contributors. Each part-time writer will work with their Editor to contribute content on an agreed-upon schedule. The preferred candidate can be flexible, adjust to last-minute changes in assignments as needed and be timely to meet the editorial demands of the news cycle and retail holiday calendar.
Important
• Position: This is a part-time role with the potential to expand to full-time based on results within the year.
• Work Hours: will constitute an average of 20 hours a week creating approximately 3 articles per day.
Responsibilities
• Write an average of 15 articles per week including sales, deals, celebrity shopping articles and gift guides.
• Learn and utilize affiliate link-making tools – both in the backend of the publication and through browser extensions to create affiliate links with proper affiliate tracking
• Monitor competitors, industry trends and be able to provide editors with content suggestions based on products and celebrities
• Complete other editorial assignments, such as updates, sourcing and research from editor as assigned.
• Possible participation in sales event coverage, including working shifts over some holiday weekends such as Memorial Day, Labor Day, Amazon Prime Day and Black Friday/Cyber Monday may be required.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree
• Prior experience in commerce publishing/editorial, DTC or affiliate businesses preferred
• Digitally savvy with experience creating content in a CMS, using stock photo sites, editing/creating photos using Photoshop and/or Canva and meeting deadlines.
• Familiarity with affiliate networks (Skimlinks, Amazon Associates, etc.)
• Awareness and knowledge of basic SEO best practices
• Excellent copywriting skills with the ability to create brand-appropriate copy that drives action
• Has an eye for trends, both in terms of lifestyle/fashion and pop culture
• Familiar with top entertainment and lifestyle sites and blogs, and with current celebrity news
