(Part-time) Accountant, Remote

This is a remote position. Our client is seeking a proficient Accountant who can bring both expertise and professionalism to our client’s growing team by overseeing our client’s financial records, encompassing purchases, sales, receipts, and payments. The duties of the Accountant include collaborating closely with our client’s team to generate and assess financial reports, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, processing accounts payable and receivable, and overseeing tax payments. The ideal candidate possesses a Finance degree (preferably supplemented with accounting CPE courses) and is well-versed in accounting software packages such as QuickBooks and Zoho Books. Company Overview: Our client is a creative marketing agency based in Georgia, dedicated to delivering bold, effective strategies for their clients. Key Responsibilities • Record day-to-day financial transactions and ensure completion of the posting process. • Verify that transactions are accurately recorded in the appropriate day-book, supplier ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger. • Bring the books to the trial balance stage to ensure accuracy. • Conduct partial checks of the posting process to identify and rectify any errors. • Complete tax forms according to regulatory requirements. • Enter data, maintain records, and generate reports and financial statements. • Process accounts receivable and payable promptly to maintain financial health. Qualifications • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Experience: Minimum of 4-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a startup or small business environment. • Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (i.e, QuickBooks, Zoho Books) and advanced Excel skills. Experience working as a 1099 consultant is a plus. • Compliance & Tax Support: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations, supporting tax filings and audits as needed. • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reduce errors, and increase efficiency. Implement changes where needed to ensure scalability as the company grows. • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and meticulous attention to detail in financial reporting, reconciliations, and analysis. • Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying potential issues and providing solutions before they escalate. • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
