Position Purpose
Responsible for day to day site operation of campus library. Perfom routine clerical duties. Works under supervision of campus principal.
Essential Job Functions
Library Program Support
⢠Implement current school library program and create and atmosphere that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity level and interests of student.
⢠Help library patrons use library/media center resources including computers and other equipment
⢠Make recommendations for purchases of materials and equipment as needed
Student Instructional Support
⢠Provide instruction for students and other library users as needed and help them locate resources
⢠Reinforce reading instruction as directed by teachers.
⢠Schedule and prepare materials and reserve collection for classroom instructional use
Accountingand Inventory of library
⢠Process, organize, distribute, and maintain inventory of library/media center resources.
Clerical Support
⢠Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other docments as required.
Student Management
⢠Monitor students and maintain appropriate student behavior and an orderly atmospere.
Additional Duties:
Perform any other related duties as assigned.

- Use standard office equipment, such as personal computers and copiers.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.
- Ability to understand, apply and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word, Excel).
- Ability to work with a diverse group of individuals.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees and others.
- Ability to instruct and manage student behavior
- Ability to report work orally or in writing to supervisor as required.
- Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications Profile
- Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Texas eduational aide certificate or the ability to obtain
- Prior experience working with students is preferred.
