Overland Operations Coordinator

Key Responsibilities Manage UK overland shipments end-to-end , focusing on containers and LTL movements, ensuring timely and efficient delivery to final warehouse destinations. Coordinate with clients, UK carriers, hauliers, and third-party logistics providers to ensure seamless cargo movement. Plan and oversee last-mile delivery once containers or consolidated freight arrive in the UK, ensuring smooth warehouse delivery. Maintain up-to-date and accurate data on the digital platform to keep clients informed about their shipments. Monitor shipment progress, proactively addressing delays, port congestion, or delivery disruptions to ensure customer satisfaction. Produce and review all necessary overland transport documentation , including delivery orders, CMRs, PODs, manifests, and container release documentation. Coordinate container deliveries, de-stuffing, and LTL distribution to multiple warehouse locations where required. Provide clear and timely communication with clients, offering updates, solutions to challenges, and responding to inquiries. Ensure compliance with UK transport regulations , delivery restrictions, and company policies. Identify opportunities to optimise UK delivery routes, improve utilisation, and enhance last-mile efficiency. Collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues, improve service quality, and deliver exceptional customer experiences. Provide insights and feedback on client delivery operations to help improve UK distribution strategies. Skills Knowledge and Expertise Soft Skills Strong communication skills: Ability to clearly liaise with customers, internal teams, UK hauliers, and warehouse partners. Customer-focused problem-solving: Demonstrates initiative in resolving delivery challenges and exceeding expectations. Time management: Effectively prioritises container arrivals, LTL deliveries, and warehouse booking slots. Teamwork: Collaborates effectively with colleagues and partners to achieve shared goals. Conflict resolution: Resolves delivery issues constructively, maintaining professionalism and customer trust. Technical / Competency Skills European Overland transport knowledge: Understanding of container haulage, LTL distribution, and last-mile delivery operations. Container & LTL coordination: Experience managing FCL arrivals, deconsolidation, and delivery to warehouses. Digital platform proficiency: Ability to update and manage shipment details on logistics platforms with precision. Documentation expertise: Skilled in producing and reviewing CMRs, delivery orders, PODs, manifests, and warehouse documentation. Regulatory compliance: Familiarity with transport regulations, delivery restrictions, and compliance requirements. Operational analytics: Ability to track delivery performance, identify trends, and implement process improvements. Client relationship management: Strong capability to maintain and strengthen client relationships through excellent service delivery. Attention to detail: Ensures delivery accuracy, compliance, and data integrity throughout the operational process. Vendor coordination: Experience working with hauliers, container transport providers, and warehouse teams.
