About the Role We are seeking industry professionals with a Master's degree (Ph.D. preferred) to join our team as Adjunct Faculty members. As an Online Visiting Professor, you will have the opportunity to share your knowledge and experience with our students, teaching in various instructional areas, including Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship. Our faculty are responsible for delivering high-quality educational courses and programs that align with DeVry University's requirements, thereby facilitating student learning and success. Key Responsibilities Develop and provide students with an approved DeVry University syllabus that follows a template established by the local campus, including terminal course objectives. Organize, prepare, and regularly revise and update all course materials to ensure relevance and effectiveness. Utilize appropriate technological options for online technologies and course-related software, including websites, email, and online discussions, to prepare and deliver courses. Model effective oral and written communications that engage students, provide clarity, and enhance student learning. Set clear expectations for the course by publishing terminal objectives, assignment/examination dates, and the distribution of various evaluation categories. Ensure that the content and level of material included on exams correspond to the course terminal objectives, demonstrating consistency and fairness in exam preparation and grading. Provide timely feedback to students, fostering a supportive learning environment. Complete other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of our academic programs. Qualifications and Requirements To be successful in this role, you must possess a Master's degree in a relevant field, with a Doctoral degree preferred. For undergraduate teaching, you should have 18 graduate hours in the subject area. Your credentials must be from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Administration, or from an international institution with equivalent accreditation. Additionally, you should have: Requisite subject matter expertise in Small Business Management and Entrepreneurship. Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral. Excellent motivational and instructional skills, with the ability to facilitate learning in a diverse and non-traditional environment. The ability to work collegially and facilitate the efforts of diverse groups. What We Offer As an Online Visiting Professor at DeVry University, you will be compensated based on your degree, the number of credit hours you teach per 8-week session, and your location. Our pay structure is competitive, with rates ranging from $1500 to $2600 per 8-week session, or an hourly rate of $20.00/hour or $21.50/hour in certain states.
