We use a neuroscience-informed, SEL-integrated approach to ensure students not only improve academically but also develop the emotional skills needed for lifelong success.
About the RISE Reading & Writing Program
The RISE Reading & Writing Program helps students in grades 1–6 advance their reading fluency, comprehension, and writing skills by up to two grade levels in as little as four months. Lessons are delivered live online in small groups (no more than 5 students per class), twice a week, for 1 hour each. Using our proprietary R.I.S.E. Learning Method (Regulate to Focus, Identify Patterns That Stick, Strengthen Core Pathways, Expand Ahead with Confidence), tutors guide students through engaging, structured lessons. Lesson plans are provided, and instruction is supported by Zoom, Google Classroom, and TutorCruncher.
Schedule
• Monday–Thursday, 4:30 PM–7:30 PM
• Friday, 3:00 PM–7:00 PM
• Additional daytime hours available during summer
• Flexible, part-time W2 position
Key Responsibilities
• Deliver engaging, high-quality reading and writing lessons to small groups online
• Implement provided lesson plans with fidelity and creativity
• Assess and track student progress using provided tools
• Maintain accurate records in TutorCruncher and Google Classroom
• Communicate regularly with parents and provide progress updates
• Offer feedback, encouragement, and strategies to help students meet learning goals
• Attend occasional training and team meetings
Technology Requirements
• Reliable high-speed internet
• Laptop or desktop with webcam and microphone
• Proficiency with Zoom, Google Classroom, and willingness to use TutorCruncher
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field
• 3–5 years of teaching or tutoring experience
• Strong skills in reading comprehension, writing instruction, and structured composition
Preferred Skills
• Experience in teaching advanced writing strategies and literary analysis for Grades 4–6
• Ability to guide students in developing persuasive, narrative, and expository writing
• Familiarity with preparing students for middle school literacy expectations
• Ability to create a supportive, discussion-driven online classroom environment
