Job Summary
The Office Assistant (OA) performs foundational duties in the Writing Center, assisting the Writing Center Coordinator with critical tasks, and providing exceptional customer service to students. Responsibilities include:
Forwarding phone calls and taking messages from faculty and staff as needed
Opening and closing the Writing Center and DELC
Helping students schedule tutoring sessions and log in at the front desk
Serving as a liaison between tutors and students
Organizing and updating online and printed forms
Providing general office support
Requirements
Must be a current WSU student with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
Demonstrated writing proficiency
Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills
Proficient in word processing, internet, and emailing
Ability to work in an office environment and perform tasks with attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
Willingness to contribute beyond basic job requirements
Leadership skills and a desire to support program goals
Ability to exercise new and emerging interpersonal, technical, and leadership skills

Competitive hourly pay rate: $12.00/hour (with increases to $13.50/hour upon completion of training and certification)
