About the position

The Office Assistant I/II/III position at the Abilene-Taylor County Public Health District (ATCPHD) provides essential administrative support to the senior leadership team. This role involves managing communications, scheduling, and various administrative tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the health department. The position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to handle sensitive inquiries while maintaining confidentiality.

Responsibilities
• Provide administrative support to the ATCPHD senior leadership team.

• Prepare internal and external communications including emails, memos, and reports.

• Manage calendars and coordinate travel arrangements.
,
• Set up meetings, create agendas, and take minutes.
,
• Handle purchasing and receiving of goods and services for ATCPHD programs.
,
• Serve as the point of contact for other departments and external partners.
,
• Answer telephone calls and resolve citizen inquiries.
,
• Maintain comprehensive and accurate records.
,
• Operate various office equipment and systems.
,
• Assist with the development of ATCPHD annual budgets.

Requirements
• Four years of administrative, clerical, and/or office management experience for Office Assistant I/II.

• Five years of administrative, clerical, and/or office management experience for Office Assistant III.
,
• Two years of public health or community health experience preferred for all levels.
,
• An associate's or bachelor's degree in health, business, or a related field preferred.
,
• A valid Texas driver's license or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience in public health or community health is preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
