Odoo Accounting Consultant & ERP Configurator – Remote

Role Overview Our client is seeking an Odoo Accounting Consultant & ERP Configurator to lead the financial configuration and functional deployment of the Odoo ERP platform. This role sits at the intersection of accounting expertise and ERP systems, ensuring that financial processes are accurately translated into a robust, compliant, and scalable Odoo environment. The successful candidate will play a critical role in designing accounting structures, managing financial data migrations, and ensuring end-to-end integrity of financial flows within Odoo. Key Responsibilities Accounting Configuration & ERP Setup • Design and implement a structured Chart of Accounts aligned with management and statutory reporting requirements • Configure journals, fiscal positions, tax mappings, payment terms, and bank integrations • Set up and manage multi-company and multi-currency environments • Ensure accurate financial flows across sales, purchasing, inventory, and accounting modules Data Migration & Go-Live Support • Lead financial data migration from legacy systems (e.g. QuickBooks, Sage, SAP) • Validate opening balances and trial balance accuracy prior to system go-live • Support reconciliation and closing activities during transition periods Process Optimization & Automation • Configure automated bank reconciliation models • Set up asset accounting and depreciation schedules • Optimize Procure-to-Pay and Order-to-Cash workflows to ensure automated journal postings Reporting & Compliance • Configure and customize financial reports (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, AR/AP aging) • Support month-end and year-end closing processes • Ensure compliance with accounting principles and local tax regulations Candidate Profile Technical & Functional Skills • Strong hands-on experience with Odoo Accounting (v15 or above) • Advanced Excel skills for data preparation and validation • Experience with Odoo Studio for functional adjustments and minor configurations Accounting & Finance Background • Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and financial controls • Familiarity with statutory reporting and tax compliance frameworks Qualifications • 2+ years of experience implementing Odoo Accounting modules • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline • Professional certifications (CPA, ACCA, CMA) are an advantage Personal Attributes • High level of accuracy and attention to detail • Strong stakeholder communication skills • High standards of confidentiality and data integrity Apply tot his job
