Position Summary The Remote Simulation Instructor is responsible for implementing and evaluating simulation-based educational activities for nursing programs. This role collaborates with simulation managers and director to integrate evidence-based simulation practices into the curriculum and improve student outcomes. The Remote Simulation Instructor also assists with scenario development, ensures that simulation activities align with academic goals, and accreditation standards. Job Responsibilities • Facilitate and guide students through simulation activities, ensuring they understand the objectives and expectations. • Lead pre-briefing and debriefing sessions, utilizing best practices to promote reflective learning and critical thinking. • Provide feedback to students based on performance during simulations, focusing on clinical decision-making, teamwork, and communication skills. • Stay current with trends and best practices in simulation-based education and healthcare simulation technology. • Explore and implement innovative simulation techniques, such as virtual reality, augmented reality, or hybrid simulation models. • Identify and address student learning needs during simulation activities and work with faculty to offer additional learning resources. • Participate in the development and revision of simulation policies and procedures to enhance quality and safety. • Participate in meetings, committees, and working groups focused on the integration and development of simulation in education. • Work with institutional leadership to ensure compliance with accreditation standards related to simulation education. • Other duties as deemed necessary. Qualifications • Master’s degree in nursing required. • Certification in simulation education (such as CHSE or CHSOS) is preferred. • Multistate RN License • Minimum of 2 years hands on nursing experience. • Experience in healthcare simulation required. • Strong clinical background and understanding of healthcare protocols and practices. • Effective professional communication skills (verbal, written, and electronic). • Effectively works in a team environment. • Strong technical skills needed to effectively deliver content to students remotely. • Evening or weekend work may be needed to accommodate simulation scheduling.
