Network & Capacity Analyst
Network & Capacity Analyst
Location: Remote
Reports To: Director, Supply & Network Planning
Role Overview
Owns the modeling, analytics, and forward-looking insights that enable effective supply planning decisions. This role is responsible for capacity visibility, bottleneck identification, safety stock and inventory policy development, and network optimization. The Network & Capacity Analyst sets the guardrails that Supply Planners operate within and plays a critical role in supporting S&OP by providing clear, data-driven insights on risks, constraints, and trade-offs.
Key Responsibilities
Capacity Planning & Bottleneck Management
Develop and maintain capacity models across internal and external manufacturing partnersProvide forward-looking visibility into capacity utilization and constraints (3–18 month horizon)Identify bottlenecks across production, materials, and network flowsQuantify impact of constraints and support mitigation strategiesContinuously refine capacity assumptions based on actual performance
Inventory & Safety Stock Strategy
Own safety stock modeling and inventory policy development across finished goods, base and materialsDefine inputs including variability, service levels, and lead timesContinuously refine inventory parameters based on performance and changing business needsProvide clear guardrails for Supply Planners to execute againstEnsure alignment between inventory strategy and working capital targetsDefine and maintain planning parameters (safety stock, lead times, constraints) in partnership with the Director
S&OP Supply Review Support
Develop content and insights for supply review in S&OPHighlight capacity risks, bottlenecks, and inventory gapsRun scenario analysis to support decision makingQuantify trade-offs across service, cost, and inventoryTranslate complex analysis into clear, actionable recommendations
Supply Chain Tools, Data & Analytics
Develop a clear understanding of current supply chain tools, files, and data flows across planning, procurement, and operationsDocument how data moves today (inputs, outputs, and key dependencies across systems and manual processes)Identify gaps, inefficiencies, and duplicate work across tools and reporting, and support efforts to streamline tools and simplify processesImprove data visibility, accuracy, and consistency across systems and reportingDevelop dashboards and analytics to track key supply chain KPIs across service, cost, and inventoryIdentify trends, risks, and opportunities, translating data into actionable insightsSupport cross-functional initiatives with data-driven analysis and reporting
Network & Deployment Optimization
Analyze distribution network performance including DC placement and flowsDevelop deployment logic and optimization recommendationsModel total delivered cost across manufacturing, transportation, and storageSupport network design and footprint optimization decisionsPartner with Logistics to align network strategy with execution realities
Qualifications
2–5 years of experience in supply chain analytics, planning, or related roleStrong Excel and data modeling skills (required)Experience with ERP and data visualization tools (NetSuite, SAP, Tableau, etc.)Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate data into business insightsExperience in CPG or food & beverage preferred
What Success Looks Like
Capacity constraints are identified early with clear mitigation pathsSafety stock and inventory policies are data-driven and effectiveSupply Planners operate within clear, optimized guardrailsS&OP supply review is supported with clear, actionable insightsAnalytics drive better decisions across supply chainSupply chain data and tools are clearly mapped, with improved visibility and reduced manual/duplicative work
Leadership Profile
Highly analytical and structured thinkerTranslates complexity into clear insightsProactive and forward-lookingStrong collaborator and influencer (without direct authority)Continuously improves data, tools, and models
