An international nonprofit established in 1896, we are dedicated to the elimination of death, injury, property, and economic loss due to fire, electrical, and related hazards. The Association delivers information and knowledge through more than 300 consensus codes and standards, research, training, education, outreach, and advocacy; and by partnering with others who share an interest in furthering the NFPA mission. To better meet the needs of those who rely on our information and knowledge to keep people and property safe, we are amidst a transformation to expand our influence and further our safety mission. We are becoming increasingly digital and global to grow, thrive, and save more lives from fire, electrical, and other hazards. To accomplish this, we need effective leaders at all levels of the Association who understand what we are striving for, why it is important, and how to execute our vision and who passionately want to see NFPA through this important stage. It is an exciting and empowering time to work at NFPA. NFPA is looking to add an IT Business Analyst to the IT Project Management Team! PURPOSE We are looking for a collaborative, organized and systems-savvy Business Analyst to join our IT PMO team. This person will support the planning, improvement, and ongoing optimization of NFPA’s enterprise systems — including NetSuite, HubSpot, corporate website, and other integrated business platforms. Working closely with the Principal Business Analyst, Project Managers, and business stakeholders, this role helps define requirements, map processes, and ensure technology solutions align with business goals. The Business Analyst acts as a connector between business needs and technical delivery, translating ideas into clear documentation, testable requirements, and actionable insights that support system enhancements, integrations, and enterprise-wide projects. The ideal candidate is curious, analytical, and proactive. They enjoy digging into details to uncover how systems and processes connect. They work well in partnership with the team, particularly with business analysts and project managers, and bring structure to evolving business needs. They balance thoughtful analysis with clear communication, helping ensure that enterprise systems work for the people who use them. Requirements PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES • Collaborate with the Principal Business Analyst to gather, analyze, and document business requirements for enterprise systems initiatives, then translate those needs into practical system-based solutions that align with platform capabilities, either through direct implementation or detailed solution documentation. Partner with stakeholders across the organization and with external vendors to understand needs and translate them into system or process improvements. Develop clear and testable user stories, acceptance criteria, and process documentation. Plan and prep for user acceptance testing, supporting users during testing, and analyzing and triaging the feedback and defects found. Experience working within Scrum-based software development teams, leading backlog refinement sessions, and partnering closely with developers to document how solutions will be implemented. Support configuration, testing, and deployment activities for system updates and enhancements. Assist in data analysis, mapping, and validation to ensure accuracy and consistency across integrated platforms (e.g., NetSuite ?HubSpot). This role requires someone who is comfortable moving between stakeholder conversations and detailed technical discussions. Develop and maintain system documentation, training materials, and knowledge bases to support adoption and continuity. Identify opportunities to streamline business processes, improve data quality, and reduce manual work through automation or standardization. Provide day-to-day analytical and administrative support for enterprise systems and related PMO initiatives. QUALIFICATIONS 3–6 years of experience as a Business Analyst or in a related role supporting enterprise applications (ERP, CRM, or marketing automation). Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Familiarity with platforms such as NetSuite, HubSpot, or similar enterprise systems. Strong understanding of business processes across Finance, Marketing, and Operations. Experience documenting requirements, workflows, and test cases in Jira, Confluence, or Smartsheet. Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences. Final compensation is determined by a combination of factors, including the specific skills, relevant experience, education, and training you bring to the role, as well as internal equity and business needs. For candidates whose qualifications align well with the role’s requirements and expectations, offers are often made toward the minimum of the posted range.
