Multi-State Telemedicine Physician (MD/DO) – 1099 Independent Contractor

Job description: Overview Telescope Health is seeking experienced multi-state licensed Physicians (MD/DO) to provide virtual urgent care services via telemedicine. This role is ideal for clinicians who are comfortable practicing independently in a fast-paced virtual environment and who value flexible scheduling. Responsibilities • Provide virtual urgent care evaluations via video and/or chat • Diagnose and treat common acute conditions within telehealth scope • Prescribe medications as clinically appropriate (non-controlled substances) • Document encounters accurately and efficiently in the EMR • Follow evidence-based clinical guidelines and company protocols • Deliver patient-centered, compassionate care in a virtual setting • Collaborate with clinical leadership and support teams as needed Requirements • Valid MD or DO license in at least NE, FL, IA, CO, TX, PA with the ability to obtain multi-state licensure for additional states where services are provided. • Proven experience in clinical settings such as hospital medicine, outpatient clinics, or urgent care environments; telehealth experience is highly preferred. • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems like Epic or other EMR platforms; strong proficiency in medical terminology and documentation standards. • Knowledge of diverse specialties including psychiatry, dermatology, cardiology, endocrinology, pulmonology, or other relevant fields is advantageous. • Ability to perform detailed patient assessments remotely using video conferencing tools; excellent communication skills are essential. • Basic life support (BLS) certification; additional certifications such as ACLS or PALS are a plus. • Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance, medical coding (CPT/ICD), and telemedicine regulations across multiple states. • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple patient encounters efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
