Movies & TV List Writer
ComicBook is seeking talented writers with plenty to say about their favorite movies, TV series, genres, and viral geek culture trends in the industry. This fully remote position allows writers the flexibility to pitch and develop ideas on their own schedule, as well as picking up commissioned articles, while engaging the fandoms they know best.
You Will:
ā¢ Compose engaging list articles - tap into what you know best and share those hot takes and retrospectives with our audiences.
ā¢ Work with editors to craft unique angles and put the right flair on your pieces to make them stand out.
ā¢ Produce clean copy that is easy to edit, enjoyable to read, and free of typos while working towards a self-publishing goal to further own the role on your own schedule.
ā¢ Develop extensive knowledge of major movies and TV franchises, studios, and other industry elements while conveying that knowledge in your own voice.
ā¢ Follow editorial guidelines and adapt writing style to site tone (with plenty of room for personal flourishes) as needed.
ā¢ Engage with our suite of editors and writers to develop and execute ideas.
You MUST Have:
ā¢ Prior publishing experience in journalism or other professional writing fields (technical and/or creative).
ā¢ A portfolio of past work for us to review (ideally Muckrack page, bylines, etc.).
ā¢ Degree and/or certification in English-related education is a plus but not mandatory.
ā¢ Ambition, a passion for publishing, and a desire to help us connect with readers and grow our brand.
As a news publisher that operates 24/7, availability in evenings and on weekends is a bonus - as are candidates who will be excited to hop-on and help.

Pay: $15.66 - $26.93 per hour
