Position Overview:
Patriot Title is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Loan Escrow Officer to manage the closing process for high-volume residential real estate transactions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in residential loan escrow, be fully licensed in a state requiring escrow licensing (such as Texas or California), and possess deep knowledge of the residential loan and real estate closing process. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, advanced knowledge of escrow regulations, and the ability to work efficiently in a high-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Escrow and Loan Closing Management
Oversee and execute the escrow process for high-volume residential loan transactions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
Manage all phases of residential loan closings, including reviewing and preparing documents, coordinating disbursements, and resolving issues to ensure timely closings.
Draft and follow escrow instructions in compliance with buyer, seller, and lender agreements.
Ensure all loan closing documents, including title policies and deeds, meet legal, regulatory, and lender requirements.
Compliance and Risk Management
Stay up to date on state and federal regulations governing escrow processes, particularly in licensing states like Texas or California.
Ensure that all escrow files comply with RESPA, TRID, and other regulatory requirements for residential transactions.
Identify and mitigate risks throughout the escrow process, ensuring funds and documentation are safeguarded.
Client and Stakeholder Communication
Act as a liaison between buyers, sellers, lenders, real estate agents, and attorneys to facilitate smooth and efficient residential closings.
Provide timely updates and proactive communication to all stakeholders, addressing inquiries and resolving discrepancies as needed.
Financial Oversight and Reporting
Manage incoming and outgoing escrow funds, ensuring accurate and timely disbursements for residential transactions.
Prepare and review settlement statements and reconcile escrow accounts.
Maintain meticulous records of all escrow transactions and ensure proper documentation for audits.
Team Collaboration
Work closely with internal teams, including title officers and loan processors, to ensure seamless operations.
Train and mentor junior staff as needed to maintain quality and efficiency in the escrow process.
Qualifications:
Required Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in escrow or title roles, with a focus on residential real estate transactions and managing high-volume closings.
Proven ability to close 50+ residential loans monthly in a fast-paced environment.
Licensing
Licensed Escrow Officer in a state requiring licensing, such as Texas, California, or similar.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in escrow management software and tools, such as SoftPro, ResWare, or similar platforms.
Familiarity with loan origination systems and accounting software.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
Knowledge
Strong understanding of escrow processes, title policies, and residential real estate laws.
Familiarity with RESPA, TRID, and other regulatory frameworks governing residential loan closings.
Soft Skills
