They are seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer - Country Home Lending to contribute to providing high quality, profitable credit services to customers, while developing marketing networks and maintaining customer relationships.ResponsibilitiesMarket and sell Country Home Loan (CHL) products and ensure profitability targets are met for assigned portfolioDevelop and maintain an active external marketing and referral network with real estate agents, lenders, accountants, home builders and other lending and insurance staff throughout assigned territoryMaintain familiarity with other AgWest products and collaborate with organization staff by making referrals and cross-selling products to meet customer needsEstablish rapport with and develop and maintain confidence of customers and prospective customersResponsible for understanding internal loan pricing programs, models and tools, and communicating appropriate loan pricing information with customersMake quality credit decisions to ensure customer service, a high-quality loan portfolio and loan administrationMonitor loan performance and services of assigned accountsGather financial information through interviews in person and by phone, reviews financial statements, legal opinions, tax records and other financial informationComply with organization documentation expectations, procedures, laws and regulations and assist in credit investigations of applicants including public record searches, credit bureau reports, employment and income verification, collateral inspection and asset and liability verificationPrepare loan application packages including credit analysis, submit recommendations for approval and participate in loan closings by ensuring the appropriate documentation is completed and understood by the customerService assigned accounts with the objective of providing efficient customer service through proactive servicing, follow up, and timely coordination with other divisions and portfolio groupsAccurately classify loans, ensuring loan data attributes such as PD, LGD, and YBS are correctRepresent and communicate the values, purpose and mission of the organization to employees, customers, the public and other target audiences, by joining or actively supporting appropriate agricultural organizations, civic groups or industry groups and actively participating in sponsored events and programsParticipate in assigned industry teams or industry task forces as neededAdvance industry knowledge and expertise of assigned industry teamsAssist teams with detailed industry studies and works to expand industry specific customer services and delivery systemsAssist with the organization of industry specific customer educational eventsPerform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with company policies, procedures, and internal controlsOther duties as assignedSkillsBachelor's degree in business, economics, finance or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceBasic understanding of financial statements and analysisAbility to effectively communicate and negotiate terms on behalf of the organization for low complexity and smaller size relationships, both verbally and in writingAbility to travel to perform certain required dutiesValid driver's licenseAbility to complete all requirements for registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS)Successful completion of AgWest CHL Relationship Manager training program or an equivalentKnowledge of Farm Credit policies and procedures, eligibility requirements and productsUnderstanding of the local agricultural marketsAbility to market, sell, and effectively negotiate terms on behalf of AgWest, both verbally and in writingKnowledge of agricultural practices and crop and livestock productionWorking knowledge of banking, mortgage, consumer credit regulations and laws, including legal terminology (e.g. zoning ordinances, Truth in Lending, RESPA etc.)BenefitsMedical, dental, and vision insuranceBasic term life and AD&D insurance (fully paid for by the company)Paid days off annually: 15 vacation*, 15 sick, 12 holidays and 3 volunteer401(k) plan (6% match plus 3% employer contribution)Employee Assistance ProgramWellness ProgramJeans are welcome at work every day at AgWest!Vacation accrual rates increase with tenure.Company OverviewAgWest Farm Credit provides agricultural lender and crop insurance services to farmers, ranchers, and timber harvesters.
