Project Overview: I’m building an MVP version of OnlyFlips, a niche mobile app for flipping, tricking, parkour, and gymnastics athletes. Users will upload short videos, compete in weekly trick challenges, and climb leaderboards. Think TikTok-style vertical video feed, but specifically for flips/tricks with a built-in competition system. This job is to build the first working MVP for iOS/Android. Core Features Needed (MVP): User Authentication (email or Google/Apple) User Profiles (username, bio, profile picture, gym/school) Vertical Video Feed (swipe through videos like TikTok/Reels) Upload Videos (record or upload from gallery) Likes & Comments Weekly Competition System Users can submit a video as their entry A page showing all entries Admin can choose winner Leaderboard (rank by likes or simple scoring) Basic Notifications (in-app is fine for MVP) Settings Page Tech Stack (Flexible): Preferred but open to your suggestions: React Native or Flutter Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Storage) Backend can be Firebase or Node.js—whatever you’re comfortable with App should be ready for App Store + Play Store submission Deliverables: Fully functioning MVP Clean, maintainable source code Simple admin method to set weekly competitions Instruction on how to manage Firebase/database App Store + Play Store–ready build files Ideal Developer: Experience with short-video mobile apps Strong with React Native OR Flutter Comfortable with Firebase Good communication and weekly updates Able to work independently and help refine features where needed Timeline: Flexible — ideally 3–6 months for a polished MVP.
