Job SummaryParticipates in the ongoing development, implementation, and evaluation of the curriculum in a specified content area. Duties and Responsibilities:University RelatedPromotes the mission and philosophy of the FNU.Attends curriculum, academic, department/program faculty meetings.Participates in the annual Fall Faculty Meeting and Commencement as stipulated in their current FNU contractParticipates in Frontier Bound and Clinical Bound, if applicable, as stipulated in their current FNU contract Provide service to the University through activities such as involvement in FNU shared governance (e.g., committees, workgroups), FNU-sponsored activities (e.g., charity drives, community outreach activities), and/or service to the profession (e.g., presentations, professional organization committee work). Adhere to the elements of the Culture of CaringOther duties as assigned. Course RelatedProvides teaching, social, and cognitive presence in assigned courses, facilitating student learning and evaluation.Reviews course evaluation data, offers insight into the data to the course coordinator, and participates in course team analysis of course evaluation data. Maintains communication with the Course Coordinator about student performance, progress, and/or other course-related issues.Maintains currency in areas of expertise through clinical practice, literature review, participation in continuing education programs, etc.Responsible for meeting timelines related to course revision work, student feedback (e.g., grading and meeting turnaround deadlines), and other related timelines as required.Student RelatedCommunicates effectively with students, demonstrating respect and professionalism.Maintains accessibility to students enrolled in the course through email, forums, phone calls, and other means of communication as outlined in the Faculty Handbook. Assists with student orientation to course expectations.Assures necessary timelines are met in course delivery and graded work to enable student progress.Enables students to have feedback (including the return of written work) according to FNU policy.ServiceParticipates in faculty course teams.Participates in standing and/or ad hoc committees of FNU.Participates in professional organizations; acts as a representative of FNU in furthering nurse-midwifery and/or nurse practitioner education and/or practice.Participates in the mentorship of other faculty members.Provides service to the home community.ScholarshipParticipates in scholarly work through publication, grant writing, presentations, Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) project participation, scholarly consultation, and/or other scholarly endeavors.Required Skills/AbilitiesSkilled in communication, problem-solving, computer literacy, management, and organization preferred.Experience in subject matter for the assigned courseEducation and Experience:National certification in specialty area(s)Doctorate in nursing or related field preferred. Will consider applicants with a masterโs degree or higher in nursing or a related field who also have teaching experience.Experience in teaching and education preferred.Physical Requirements:Able to sit or stand for long periods of timeAble to travel to campus for required activities (2-3 times per year)Reporting Relationship:The Course Faculty reports to the Course Coordinator of the assigned course(s) and the appropriate Program Director and/or Department Chair.Work Location:Remote
