Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated and caring Middle School Special Education Paraprofessional to work with students in grades 5-8 at Marshall Middle School. As a key member of our special education team, you will provide essential support to students with diverse needs, working closely with teachers and other staff members to ensure a comprehensive and inclusive educational experience. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct support to students with special needs, assisting with academic, social, and behavioral tasks Work closely with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) Assist with classroom management, lesson preparation, and delivery of instruction Build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff members Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or administrator Requirements and Qualifications: To be considered for this role, you must: Possess a high school diploma or equivalent Be alert and attentive, with a genuine understanding of child development Possess excellent oral and written communication skills Demonstrate affection for children and a strong interest in working with students with disabilities Be able to earn a passing score on the ParaPro Exam Preferred qualifications include: Previous experience working with students with special needs Knowledge of special education laws and regulations Experience with classroom management and lesson planning Skills and Competencies: To succeed in this role, you should possess: Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff members Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced educational environment Organizational and time management skills Ability to lift and move materials and students as needed Work Environment and Culture: At Marshall Public Schools, we value a positive and supportive work environment that fosters collaboration, creativity, and growth.
