Mid Level - Mechanical Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking a Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer for a remote, direct hire opportunity with our client.
This role involves working on mechanical engineering design for combined cycle and simple cycle power generation facilities, including plant expansions, upgrades, and new builds.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Work on mechanical engineering design for combined cycle and simple cycle power generation facilities, including plant expansions, upgrades, and new builds.
ā¢ Develop and review key deliverables such as P&IDs, equipment specifications, piping layouts, and stress analyses.
ā¢ Oversee integration of mechanical systems with electrical, civil, structural, and I&C disciplines.
ā¢ Support equipment selection, vendor evaluations, and technical bid reviews.
ā¢ Provide field engineering support during construction, commissioning, and startup.
ā¢ Mentor junior engineers and support client communication throughout project phases.
Qualifications
ā¢ B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
ā¢ 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in power generation, with emphasis on combined cycle or thermal power plants.
Requirements
ā¢ Strong knowledge of ASME, API, NFPA, and relevant power industry standards.
ā¢ P&IDs, equipment specification/sizing, pipe material sizing/material selection.
ā¢ Experience in a consulting engineering or EPC environment highly preferred.
ā¢ Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred.
