Mid Enterprise Data AI Platform Systems Engineer

Responsibilities: Career level with a complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts. Working under only general direction, provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Bachelor's (or equivalent) with 5 - 7 years of experience, or a master's and 3 to 5 years of experience. Develops and programs integrated software algorithms to structure, analyze and leverage data in product and systems applications in both structured and unstructured environments. Develops and communicates descriptive, diagnostic, predictive and prescriptive insights/algorithms. In product/systems improvement projects: uses machine language and statistical modeling techniques such as decision trees, logistic regression, Bayesian analysis and others to develop and evaluate algorithms to improve product/system performance, quality, data management and accuracy. In both theoretical development environments and specific product design, implementation and improvement environments, uses current programming language and technologies to translate algorithms and technical specifications into code. Completes programming and implements efficiencies, performs testing and debugging. Completes documentation and procedures for installation and maintenance. Applies deep learning technologies to give computers the capability to visualize, learn and respond to complex situations. Adapts machine learning to areas such as virtual reality, augmented reality, artificial intelligence, robotics and other products that allow users to have an interactive experience. Can work with large scale computing frameworks, data analysis systems and modeling environments. Employees in this role are expected to apply knowledge of experimental methodologies, statistics, optimization, probability theory and machine learning using code for tool building, statistical analysis and modeling, using both general purpose software and statistical languages. Qualifications: Required: • BS 5-7 Years, MS 3-5, PhD 0-2 • Must possess and have the ability to maintain a Secret security clearance • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering, mathematics, physics, or equivalent technical discipline • 3+ years of experience working on a space-related (space, ground, software, hardware system) Major Defense Acquisition Program • 1+ years of experience with artificial intelligence applications or Department of Defense cloud system development (Azure preferred) • Experience mapping system requirements to physical and functional architecture and conducting configuration management of system configurations • Experience with the development of technical specifications, interface control documents, integration plans and schedules, inter-service support agreements, system behavior diagrams, sequence diagrams, and network diagrams • Experience communicating technical concepts to users, leaders, and engineers • Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word • Knowledge of DevSecOps and agile software development • Knowledge of systems engineering standards, including IEEE 15288.1 and IEEE 15288.2 • Highly motivated and dynamic work ethic with a strong desire to contribute to the DoD Desired: • Master’s degree in an engineering, mathematics, physics, or equivalent technical discipline • 5+ years of Data Architecture experience supporting space-related (space, ground, software, hardware system), aerospace systems or Major Defense Acquisition Programs • Experience with conducting or supporting space system Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs), Critical Design Reviews (CDRs), Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), and System Verification Reviews (SVRs) • Experience with high complexity data systems and data management • Experience with performing systems engineering, integration, and test on space systems • Knowledge of Air Force ISP Guide, JCIDS Manual, CJCSI 5123.01G, DODI 8330.01, AFMAN 33‐407 and DODAF • Knowledge of DoD 5000.01/02 and DoD risk management processes • Ability to be self-motivated with a strong desire to contribute to the DoD mission • TS/SCI clearance • INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certifications (ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP) Equal Pay Act: This is the projected compensation range for this position. There are differentiating factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate, including, but not limited to, Contract Wage Determination, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location (For Remote Opportunities), education and certifications as well as Federal Government Contract Labor categories.
