About the position

The Oregon Health Authority (OHA), Public Health Division (PHD), HIV, STD, TB (HST) Section in Portland, Oregon is seeking a Medical Monitoring Project Data Analyst (Research Analyst 3) to play a key role in advancing public health initiatives. This position supports the Medical Monitoring Project (MMP)—a critical effort that provides state and national estimates on health care utilization, quality of care, and effectiveness of prevention strategies for people living with HIV. As a Data Analyst, you will lead local survey design, manage data collection, and provide research and evaluation strategies that inform evidence-based policy and funding decisions as well as recruit and interview study participants and abstract data from medical records. Your work will directly impact treatment services for people living with HIV/AIDS in Oregon and across the nation. Responsibilities

Requirements
• A Bachelor's Degree in any discipline that included six-quarter units in statistics or quantitative analysis methods and procedures, and one year experience using computerized applications to independently gather, compile, and analyze data and prepare narrative or statistical reports; OR Four years of research experience using computerized applications to independently gather, compile, and analyze data and prepare narrative or statistical reports.
• One year experience performing confidential interviews with diverse individuals to gather health information.

Nice-to-haves
• Bilingual Spanish/English is preferred.
• Experience working with medical terminology and medical records.
• Experience working with at least 2 years of biostatistical methods for analyzing data from research or evaluation projects, including survey data.
• Experience interpreting results from analyses.
• Experience with statistical software (SPSS, SAS, STATA), data management, and data visualization.
• Experience creating, promoting, welcoming, and maintaining a culturally competent and diverse work environment.
