About the position
Responsibilities
• Perform direct patient care activities under the supervision of a physician or mid-level provider.
• Engage in administrative tasks including reception duties and assisting patients and visitors.
• Complete tasks involving assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation skills.
• Manage the business side of patient visits, ensuring a smooth process for patients.
• Maintain patient records and assist with laboratory functions as needed.
Requirements
• Completion from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• One year of clinical experience is preferred.
• Medical Assistant (MA) Certification/Registration required or must be obtained within 60 days of start date from an accredited organization.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) is required within 60 days of hire.
Nice-to-haves
• Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Certification as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant is a plus.
