This is a remote position.Location: Remote (Full-Time)Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM AWSTAbout the Role:We are seeking for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to support Australian-based projects, specializing in mining industry. Working under the direction of our Australia-based engineers, you’ll design and draft mechanical equipment, plant including general arrangements adhering to Australian standards (AS/NZS), ensuring safety, efficiency, and scalability for heavy industrial applications.Key Responsibilities:3D Modelling of equipment and plant for mining and industrial projects, including such as:Comminution - crushers, screens, feedersMaterials handling - conveyors, chutesMineral processing – mills, tanks, pumps, piping, cyclonesDrafting of detailed drawings for mining and industrial projects, using AutoCAD, Revit, or MicroStationGeneral ArrangementsMechanical Arrangements & DetailsPerform calculations per Australian standardsHydraulic calculations – pipe losses, pump selectionPipe stress calculationsCollaborate with Australian engineers to translate design requirements into technical models and drawings.Prepare models in Navisworks for engineering reviews.Requirements:5+ years of design experience, with exposure to Australian standards (AS/NZS).Experience with mining and industrial design projects.Proficiency in 3D ModellingProficiency with CAD tools (AutoCAD, Revit, or MicroStation).Experience in development of hydraulic calculations.Ability to work autonomously under Australian engineer direction with minimal supervision.Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.Preferred Qualifications:Proficiency in engineering software (FluidFlow3).Independent Contractor PerksHMO Coverage in eligible locationsPermanent work from homeImmediate hiringSteady freelance jobOriginally posted on Himalayas
