Math Interventionist MTSS (Remote)
Position SummaryThe MTSS Math Interventionist provides targeted, data-driven math instruction and intervention to students identified through the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). This role collaborates closely with the MTSS team and mentors to design, implement, and monitor math interventions that address individual student needs. The Math Interventionist supports student growth in core mathematical skills while promoting confidence, engagement, and academic success.Essential Duties (Top 5 Roles)1) Role 1: Deliver targeted math interventions aligned to MTSS tiersProvide small-group and individualized math intervention for students receiving Tier 2 and Tier 3 supportsImplement evidence-based instructional strategies in math, including middle school pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, algebra II, and precalculus as appropriateDifferentiate instruction based on student data, learning goals, and identified skill gapsMonitor student understanding and adjust instruction to maximize progress2) Role 2: Collaborate with the Williamsburg Academy of Colorado MTSS team and Williamsburg Learning math teamCommunicate regularly with the MTSS team regarding student progress, challenges, and intervention effectivenessParticipate in MTSS meetings and contribute data-based insights and recommendationsCoordinate with math mentors to align interventions with core instruction and curricular goalsAttend weekly Math team L10 coordination meetings3) Role 3: Track, document, and analyze student progressMaintain accurate records of intervention sessions, attendance, and student performanceCollect and analyze data to monitor growth and inform instructional decisionsPrepare progress notes and reports for MTSS documentation and team reviewAssist with authorizer site review evidence collection 4) Role 4: Provide math support in the drop-in tutoring labAttend scheduled tutoring lab hours to provide supplemental math support to studentsAssist students with classwork, assignments, and skill reinforcement aligned to MTSS goalsCollaborate with tutors and MTSS team members to ensure consistency of instructional strategies and supportsObserve and note patterns in student needs to inform intervention planning and progress monitoring5) Role 5: Foster a positive, supportive learning environmentCreate and maintain a safe, inclusive, and student-centered learning environment in small-group or individual settingsActively encourage, motivate, and engage students to build confidence and perseverance in mathSupport positive student behavior and promote effective problem-solving and study strategiesNon-Essential DutiesPlease note that this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of the activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time, with or without notice.Minimum QualificationsBachelorâs degree in Mathematics, Education, or a closely related fieldDemonstrated knowledge of a wide range of mathematical subject areas, including middle school, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, Algebra II, and PrecalculusDemonstrated experience delivering math intervention within an MTSS framework or comparable data-driven intervention model, including progress monitoring and instructional adjustmentsProven work experience with educational staff, students, and their familiesProven Integrity, professionalism, and sound judgmentAdept at multitasking and working with multiple students at the same timeAbility to respond effectively to the needs of diverse students and familiesExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsComputer experience with the ability to adapt and learn various platforms, including Canvas, Zoom, G-Suite, and math tutoring software.Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with othersDemonstrated organizational skillsWorking ConditionsFull-time remote positionExpected working hours include attendance in the tutoring lab MondayâThursday from 1:30â3:30 p.m. MT and Friday from 10:00 a.m.â12:00 p.m. MT.
