This strategy has allowed Phantom to achieve significant milestones including surpassing 15 million MAU’s, reaching #1 in the Google play store finance category, and consistently trending as a Top 50 app across all categories, right next to X, PayPal, Coinbase, and ChatGPT.ResponsibilitiesWe’re looking for a Solana Blockchain Engineer to lead the development of cutting-edge on-chain trading infrastructure at Phantom. This is a unique opportunity to build novel exchange mechanisms—RFQ systems, AMMs, and intent-based protocols—on Solana, while leveraging Phantom’s massive distribution and daily engagement across millions of users. You’ll be joining a deeply crypto-native team with over a decade of experience in the space, including contributions to the adoption of proof-of-stake, innovative stables-to-stables AMM designs, and early RFQ-based trading systems. As the technical lead for on-chain trading programs, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of decentralized finance on Solana.Solana Contract Development: Design, implement, and deploy high-performance, production-grade smart contracts on the Solana blockchain, with a focus on trading infrastructure.Exchange Architecture: Develop and iterate on core on-chain components including Request-for-Quote (RFQ) systems, Automated Market Makers (AMMs), novel DEX primitives, and intent-based execution protocols. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams—including research, product, frontend, and off-chain services—to ensure system-level coherence and responsiveness in protocol behavior.Performance Optimization: Optimize smart contracts and supporting systems for latency, throughput, and transaction cost, ensuring world-class UX for traders and integrators.QualificationsMinimum of 5 years in software development, with at least 2 years of experience in Rust.Proven experience in building production Solana programs that have handled significant funds.Strong understanding of DeFi, trading systems, and smart contract risks.Highly motivated, self-driven, and passionate about building cutting-edge blockchain protocols.English language mastery both in spoken and written forms.Why Work with UsOpportunityWe are a team of experienced builders in the blockchain and crypto industry. This is determined by a few factors including your skillset, prior relevant experience, quality of interviews and market factors (such as location) at the point in time of offer.
