Works to blueprints, operation sheets, production illustrations, process bulletins and other authorized engineering documents. Uses precision measuring equipment, including electronic devices, to check and determine that proper thickness requirements meet specifications of work being performed.Performs rework, modifications and touch up of the level of difficulty of the operations described above.PERFORMS SUCH RELATED DUTIES AS:Performs surface preparation by cleaning, stripping, sanding, masking, and all necessary operations required prior to application of surface coverings.Identifies surface imperfections and makes corrections using approved procedures.Checks thickness of applied material between coats to assure correct tolerances are being maintained.Operates air and airless equipment as required. Moves, positions, and stores such equipment as portable air mover ventilators or exhaust units and safety lights. Maintains and stores spray guns, pressure pots, hoses, respirators, and other similar safety devices. Maintains good housekeeping as required.Places parts and assemblies drying ovens, sets and monitors temperature and time requirements.
