Market Manager - Chicago, IL - Wine & Spirits Sales

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Market Manager to oversee the sales and distribution of wines and spirits within the Chicago, IL market. The Market Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets, building and managing strong relationships with distributors, and providing outstanding customer service to our retail partners. The ideal candidate will have a deep knowledge of the wine and spirits industry, and a proven track record in sales management. Responsibilities: Sales Strategy and Business Development: • Develop and execute sales strategies and plans to achieve sales targets within the Chicago, IL market. • Conduct market analysis and identify new market opportunities, industry trends, and competitor activities. • Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts, distributors, and trade partners. • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement effective promotional activities. • Monitor and report on sales performance, market trends, and customer feedback. Distributor and Customer Relationship Management: • Develop and maintain strong relationships with distributors and ensure the effective management of brewery products and brand portfolio. • Conduct regular meetings with distributors to review sales performance, review account orders, and identify sales opportunities. • Build and maintain strong relationships with retail partners, responding to their inquiries, resolving any issues, and ensuring excellent customer service. • Coordinate with distributors and retail partners to plan and execute product launches, promotions, and tastings. Budgeting and Reporting: • Prepare and manage the annual sales budget, forecasting sales and expenses accurately. • Track and analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to provide insights and recommendations to the management team. • Prepare regular sales reports and presentations for the senior management team, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and growth opportunities. Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field and a minimum of 5 years of experience in wine and spirits sales, or a commensurate combination of education and experience. • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the wine and spirits industry, including products, market trends, and regulations. • Proven track record in achieving sales targets and driving sales growth. • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a motivational and collaborative approach. • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities. • Ability to maximize ROI by appropriately managing financial budgets • Ability to analyze sales data, market trends, and customer insights to develop effective strategies. • Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Proficient with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Meet). • Must be willing and able to travel up to 40% of the time and work evenings/weekends as job requires • Must possess a valid driver's license and ability to travel within Central Texas as required.
