Manager, Hedge Fund Accounting
About the position The Manager of Hedge Fund Accounting at SS&C is responsible for overseeing the accounting and valuation of complex investments, including derivatives and fixed income products. This role involves managing a team, ensuring client satisfaction, and contributing to internal projects related to product development and implementation. Responsibilities • Coordinate overall work plan for US client service group accounting staff, managing and monitoring work in progress. • Provide coaching, training, and leadership to the client service team. • Review all work products prepared by accounting staff, including monitoring and pricing of P&L, NAVs, and economic allocations. • Contribute to internal project initiatives regarding new product development, testing, and implementation. • Manage client relationships and satisfaction. • Establish a plan for new client setups, reorganizations, and conversions. • Resolve fund accounting inquiries escalated to a supervisor. • Provide technical accounting and industry knowledge to clients. • Coordinate, manage, and monitor the external audit process. • Review client financial statements, partner capital statements, and other required financial reporting. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. • Master's degree preferred. • CPA/CFA is a plus. • 6+ years' experience in Accounting or Back Office Operations working for a Fund Administrator, Hedge Fund, Mutual Fund, or Investment Advisor. • 3+ years' experience supervising others. • Strong knowledge of US GAAP. • Prior experience with various products including equities, fixed income, repurchase agreements, futures, FX, Mortgages, and options. • Solid knowledge of corporate actions. • Advanced MS Excel knowledge. • Ability to work under pressure and manage tight internal and client deadlines. • Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation abilities.
