What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities

As the Manager, Data Analytics, you will play a pivotal role in driving data-informed decision-making across the Music Group. Your responsibilities will include:


Driving Analytical Solutions: Apply rigorous, data-driven approaches to complex business challenges. Develop new features by integrating data from internal and external sources. Build and apply classification, regression, and clustering models to extract meaningful insights.

Strategic Initiative Support: Contribute to strategic initiatives and new business opportunities by developing analytical models and frameworks. Help understand potential, performance drivers, and the impact of environmental factors on our music business.

Business Intelligence: Support data-informed business processes through data mining, quantitative analysis, and data presentation. Surface and elevate key topics while answering business questions across varied business areas.

Data Extraction and Preparation: Extract and develop data for analysis. Secure, organize, cleanse, and manipulate complex, large-scale data from various dynamic sources using tools such as PySpark and advanced SQL to interact with data effectively.

Statistical Modeling: Apply supervised or unsupervised learning techniques such as linear and logistic regression, decision trees, or k-means clustering to derive, validate, and measure conclusions from data.

Cross-Functional Partnership: Serve as the analytical partner for cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities and understand performance. Dive into data to drive meaningful and impactful insights.

Reporting and Analysis: Contribute to organizational needs through ongoing reporting and analysis to inform business, product, marketing, and sales decisions.

Content and Audience Analysis: Lead content performance and audience analysis for product releases. Develop and track key metrics to measure success.

Statistical Analysis: Perform statistical analysis including KPI deep dives, behavioral segmentation, and customer journey analysis. Develop analytical pipelines for automated, scalable, repeatable, and integrated analysis using modern big data frameworks in data ecosystems such as Databricks, Snowflake, and Google BigQuery.

Collaboration with Engineering: Work closely with Engineering and Product teams to execute on data projects. Contribute to policy discovery, design, build, and QA processes. Collaborate on data models, database architecture, tables, and ETL/ELT data pipelines with validation parameters.

Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team member, setting boundaries to maximize influence within the organization.


What We're Looking For: Required Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience


3+ years of data analysis experience in a professional setting
3+ years of management experience with demonstrated ability to lead and develop team members
Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or other related discipline
Experience developing statistical models and analyses in an industry setting for business use cases with applied knowledge of supervised and unsupervised learning techniques
Proficiency in handling large, transaction-level datasets and interpreting data trends from multiple disparate data sources
Strong hands-on experience developing analytical solutions using scripting tools (Python/R)
Mastery in advanced SQL, large-scale data, and distributed computing languages (PySpark)
Experience with data mining in distributed systems (Spark/Databricks)
Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (Tableau/Looker)
Experience developing analytical software that scales investigations
Experience working with media performance data
Experience working with data in the media or entertainment industry
Strong experience documenting data requirements, rules, and assumptions
Experience communicating analytical concepts to diverse audiences
Passion for building clear, concise, and meaningful metrics
Proven history of using data to deliver business value and presenting data-driven insights to business audiences
Experience influencing and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization
Strong time management skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment across multiple priorities
Strong attention to detail without losing sight of broader objectives
History of working independently, demonstrating creativity, and delivering results
Genuine passion for music and the music industry
Strong experience with music streaming platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube Music), social media platforms (TikTok, Facebook/Instagram), and emerging technologies (digital assistants/voice)


Preferred Qualifications

Experience building, managing, and motivating teams in strategic support functions
Graduate degree in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Engineering, or other related discipline
