Manager Business Report Development
Position OverviewThe Manager of Business Reporting Development leads a team of Business Report Developers responsible for designing, developing and delivering reporting tools that support the Planning and Merchandising organization. This role ensures stability, effectiveness and continuous improvement of existing reporting and tools while identifying new opportunities to improve efficiency and business outcomes. The manager works closely with business partners and IT teams to translate business needs into scalable, accurate and well documented reporting solutions.A Day in the LifeTeam Leadership and Development:Lead, develop and train a team responsible for supporting and enhancing an existing suite of Excel and VBA-based applicationsSet clear expectations and ensure high standards for accuracy, communication and deliveryEncourage continuous improvement and innovation across tools and processesFoster a collaborative, high-performing team culture focused on accountability and continuous learningBusiness Tools and Reports: Maintain and enhance advanced Excel/VBA based applications that support core merchandising and planning operationsIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and process enhancementsTroubleshoot and resolve application issues in a timely and effective mannerEnsure all tools and reports are thoroughly tested and validated for accuracy and reliabilityMaintain clear and up-to-date documentation for all projects and toolsProject and Process Management:Manage project plans, timelines, and team resources to meet committed delivery datesLead requirements-gathering sessions by documenting, analyzing and evaluating business requests to determine optimal solutions.Balance completing priorities while maintaining quality and stakeholder satisfactionStakeholder & Cross-Functional Collaboration:Partners closely with business users to understand reporting needs and objectivesCommunicate benefits, risks and level of effort associated with proposed solutionsCollaborate with IT and technical teams to align solutions with the existing application and technical landscapeDeliver solutions that effectively support business users and strategic goalsContinuous Improvement & InnovationChampion continuous improvement initiatives within the reporting organizationStay current on emerging BI technologies, tools and industry trendsProactively propose innovative solutions to enhance reporting tools capabilities and business insightsSupport and lead corporate sponsored initiatives with the team and across functional areas.You'll Come WithEducation:Bachelorâs DegreeExperience:Minimum 3 yearsâ experience leading or managing a teamMinimum 5 yearsâ experience in application development using Excel and VBAAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft ExcelStrong experience with VBA DevelopmentProficiency in SQLExperience with Microsoft Power BIExperience with MicroStrategy report development preferredExperience supporting retail merchandising and planning functions preferredSkills and Abilities: Demonstrated leadership and people management capabilitiesStrong written and verbal communication skills.Excellent organizational skills with high-level attention to detailProven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressureFamiliarity with data modeling, report distribution, and data validation practicesAdvanced technical skills with deep knowledge of Excel and VBAKey CompetenciesStrategic thinking with the ability to execute effectivelyStrong people leadership, coaching and development skillsExcellent stakeholder communication and relationship managementProcess improvement mindset with strong problem-solving skillsHigh attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and integrityAbility to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environmentCome join our team.
