This role focuses on ensuring accurate and efficient billing operations while leveraging analytics to drive insights and improve AR performance. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and process-driven, with a strong background in AR operations and accounting, billing systems and team leadership.This is a remote opportunity within Canada. What we're looking for: 7+ years of experience in accounts receivable, billing, or finance operations, with at least 3 years managing a teamExtensive knowledge of billing systems and accounts receivable accounting, with a strong understanding of internal controls. Experience with internal and external audits is highly preferredStrong understanding of billing systems, ERP tools, and reporting platforms. Prior experience in Netsuite and Salesforce is preferredSkilled at leading and developing teams, fostering collaboration, growth, and high performanceExpert knowledge in Excel, with prior experience in preparing and reporting AR analyticsExcellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detailStrong communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaborationExperience in the tech industry is preferred What you can expect: Billing:Oversee the end-to-end billing process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with company policies and customer agreementsCollaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Sales, Customer Success, Revenue, GL) to resolve billing discrepancies, ensure accurate invoicing, maintain compliance with accounting standards, and identify appropriate invoicing strategies for new products and sales channelsLead AR accounting functions, including reconciliation, reporting, and audit supportReview and approve AR working papers and journal entries, including AFDA provisions, bad debt write-offs, and other billing-related transactionsAct as a key point of contact for internal and external audits related to AR billingTeam Leadership and Development:Lead and mentor a team of AR Accountants, providing guidance, support, and development opportunitiesFoster a positive and collaborative team environment that encourages innovation and excellenceProvide individualized coaching and guidance through regular 1:1s and ongoing performance discussionsAR Analytics:Conduct in-depth data analysis to identify opportunities for process improvements within the AR teamLeverage analytics and reporting tools to track AR performance, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to leadershipDevelop key performance metrics and dashboards to enhance visibility into AR processes and drive data-driven decision-makingProcess Optimization and Documentation:Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of billing workflows, policies, and system configurationsIdentify, develop, and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency and scalability in AR operationsCollaborate with the Financial Systems team to optimize and fully utilize AR tools, driving greater efficiency and continuous improvements in AR processes Additional Information Canada-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $114,000 CAD and $154,000 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.At 1Password, we approach each individual's compensation with a promise of fair market value and internal equity commensurate with experience and specific skill set.We believe in the power of remote work, but we also recognize that in-person connection is sometimes important to help us achieve our mission.
