As the leader of the Management Company Accounting team, you will lead a talented, accomplished, and experienced group of colleagues. This role is a means to make a difference: as the senior accounting professional within the Voleon organization, you will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, improve processes, and develop, mentor, and train a world-class finance team.ResponsibilitiesLead and develop the Management Company Accounting team to keep up with the demands of our diverse businessEnsure timely and accurate preparation of consolidated monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements of the Management Company, GP, subsidiaries, and affiliatesEstablish accounting policies and procedures to ensure that all financial transactions are executed and documented in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles as well as maintain strict internal controlsManage day-to-day operational needs, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, expense management, vendor management, and cash controlsWork with the CFO, Senior Finance Director and Senior Manager of Financial Planning Analysis to prepare budget to actual variance reporting and various ad hoc analysesSupport implementation (and later enhancements) of Workday ERP and other automation toolsProduce partner capital account statements and other supporting materialsLead the annual financial audit processAssist with federal, state and local tax matters, ensuring compliance with tax laws and timely preparation of all related tax filingsRequirements10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller or Director of AccountingProven record of success at a top-tier accounting firmExperience with corporate tax compliance, filings, and processesERP system knowledge (QuickBooks, Workday and related), including implementationStrong technology fluency with experience experimenting with and integrating new software applications into work processesAbility to lead, supervise and guide a team in a fast-paced environmentHighest standard for integrity, accuracy and meeting deadlinesStrong technical and practical knowledge of GAAP Four-year degree in accounting and CPA. Master’s degree preferredPreferred QualificationsExperience in investment management, ideally at a hedge fund or PE fundExperience with partnership accounting and taxationThe base salary range for this position is $200,000 to $250,000 in the location(s) of this posting. Individual salaries are determined through a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. Base salary does not include other forms of total compensation such as bonus compensation and other benefits.
