Job Opportunity: 1:1 Sign Language Interpreter
Location: Naples, FL
Our partner school district is actively seeking qualified Sign Language Interpreters to support students who are Hard of Hearing across elementary, middle, and high school settings.
This is a meaningful opportunity to make a direct impact in the classroom by ensuring students have full access to instruction, peer interaction, and school activities through American Sign Language (ASL).
Position Details:
⢠August 2025 - June 2026
⢠Full-time: 35 Hours/week
⢠Caseload: 1:1 with K-12 students
Key Responsibilities:
⢠Provide 1:1 ASL interpretation for students who are Hard of Hearing across a variety of academic subjects and settings
⢠Serve as a team interpreter for small groups or whole-class instruction when necessary
⢠Adapt sign language and content for younger or emerging ASL learners, breaking down concepts to support understanding
⢠Facilitate communication between students, staff, and peers
⢠Maintain professional boundaries and follow ethical guidelines for educational interpreters
⢠Collaborate with the educational team to support student learning and engagement
Hourly Pay: $30-33 depending on experience
Requirements:
⢠Preferred: EIPA score of 3.0 or higher
⢠Open to Consideration: Candidates with other interpreting certifications or relevant experience
⢠Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
⢠Ability to modify and simplify ASL to support younger learners
⢠Previous school-based interpreting experience is a plus
